Who is Val?
Val lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with her fiancée, Allison, and their two cats. Val loves driving Allison crazy by bringing home new seasonal decór far too frequently. They enjoy the fall most of all, spending time at apple orchards and the local corn maze, and are proud season ticket holders to UVA women’s basketball.
Val holds a BA in Youth Ministry & Adolescent Studies from Judson University (Elgin, Illinois) and a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in biblical languages from Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University (Waco, Texas - sic’ em, Bears!). She is a member of University Baptist Church in Charlottesville, where she was ordained while serving as Associate Minister for Students.
Val has previously served on staff at Central Baptist Church of Bearden (Knoxville, Tennessee), University Baptist Church (Waco, Texas), and held volunteer staff roles at Springbrook Community Church (Huntley, Illinois) and Poplar Creek Community Church (Bartlett, Illinois). Through these roles, she has worked with students on the campuses of Judson University, Baylor University, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Virginia.
Val currently serves the UVA community as a Basic Needs Case Manager in the Care & Support Services section of student affairs. Wahoowa!
