About Val
Val has been leading and teaching in church and university settings since 2009, serving across a variety of denominational and non-denominational settings, with congregations ranging in size from 50 to 500. Val specializes in college and young adult ministry, retreat planning, and spiritual formation experiences utilizing the Enneagram personality system. Val first encountered the Enneagram as a college student, deepening her understanding of the system through small group work during seminary, and completing the Enneagram cohort program with Suzanne Stabile (Life in the Trinity Ministries) in 2019.
Ministry Specialties
Preaching
With fifteen years of experience across various denominations & worship styles, I hope to preach the word of God in ways that connect scripture into our everyday, walking around lives. My goal in preaching is always to give the hearers an opportunity to respond to what God is doing in their life today, both as an individual and as a community of faith.
Retreat Leadership
Whether it be for an age group, a church staff, or a whole congregation, I bring a wealth of experience in retreat planning and leadership. Retreat leadership can include assistance with planning every detail of your experience, or focused content for growth toward holiness, collaboration, and holistic health. Particular strengths include content for youth & young adult retreats, as well as church staff retreats.
Enneagram Work

The Enneagram is a personality system that shows you the ways you thrive, as well as the ways you limit yourself, inviting you into a more whole and holy existence. Whether through individual coaching or workshops for larger groups, the Enneagram can help us all to live with more grace for ourselves and for others.

Whether it be formal, high liturgy, casual, non-religious, untraditional or an elopement - it’s your day, and we will do it your way! I specialize in creating ceremonies that merge faith traditions together, as well as LGBTQ+ weddings.
